Press Release: 01 Apr 2003
Tandridge and Sevenoaks District Councils have just completed the initial phase of an e- Democracy project with CMIS.
The ODPM’s funding of this Partnership initiative is a clear indication of the importance placed upon the provision of Democracy based services enabling access by the public to Council’s workings and their representatives.
“Working with CMIS, we will be ensuring that e-Democracy is positioned at the heart of Council’s web-based presentation to citizens.” Said Stuart Mitchenall, IT Manager, Tandridge District Council. “At a time when the Government is encouraging citizens to take more interest in the democratic process, we believe that this approach will provide leadership to other councils of all sizes on how to address core drivers as well as issues raised by the Freedom of Information Act.”
CMIS is a market leader in the field of Democratic Services enablement, bringing true efficiency gains in internal processes whilst allowing Authorities to publish agendas, minutes, plans and full member (representative) details in one straightforward system.
“CMIS is used by Authorities throughout the UK, such as Sandwell MBC, Mid Suffolk DC and Milton Keynes Council, this is confirmation of our stance on e-Democracy being at the heart of Councils’ presentation to citizens in general.” said Neale Hayes, CMIS Product Manager.
