Astech completes acquisition of CMIS from Enline

Press Release: 28 Nov 2008

On November 25th 2008, Astech finalised an agreement to purchase CMIS from its developer, Enline plc. First released in 1996 as a bespoke development for a single local government customer, CMIS has since evolved under Enline to become one of the most established technology solutions, enabling the public sector to meet its targets for e-Democracy. Clients now range from local councils through to housing associations, with divisions of the fire service and the police service also using the technology to streamline business processes then capture and publish this information efficiently.

Danny Turner, Managing Director of Astech, commented: “Enline has done a great job in developing the CMIS software over the last 12 years and helping the public sector address the challenges set by the Department of Communities and Local Governments Efficiency and Better Services Agenda. The product now has a loyal customer following so we look forward to using these solid foundations to ensure we can deliver yet more client-centric functionality and in turn make CMIS the technology standard for the public sector.

Astech has a wealth of experience in the support and development of I.T. systems with many companies in the private sector. This move into e-government will enable us to extend the high quality service levels we have already been providing to commercial clients into the public sector too and the entire staff of Astech look forward to the challenges and opportunities this will present us with in the years to come.”
